Simonetta Carrell-Knapp, J.D., MPA, is an established expert in negotiating medical liens for personal injury cases involving catastrophic injuries, civil rights violations, and worker compensation. Simonetta's professional experience includes a significant role as a Project Manager handling MASS TORT cases and Senior Lien Resolution Specialist, saving client's millions in lien savings. She strives to help our Military Veterans since she grew up as a "Colonel's Daughter" born in Vicenza, Italy on the Caserma Ederle military complex where the United States Army has troops stationed.
While at the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C., Simonetta interned under the guidance of the Honorable Loren A. Smith (former Chief Judge). Here, she researched, analyzed, and drafted bench memoranda, opinions, and orders in cases against the United States involving government contracts, tax disputes, regulatory takings, Indian rights, and government pay issues.
For twelve years, Simonetta also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Central Florida (UCF), teaching for the College of Health and Public Affairs, Department of Legal Studies. Prior to attending law school, Simonetta worked for almost twenty years as a Litigation Paralegal/Manager, and Firm Administrator handling multiple types of personal injury cases, such as MASS tort, nursing home, premises liability, nursing home neg, products liability, MVA, slip and fall, for major firms as Morgan & Morgan and Gordon and Donor. She has handled National medical liens, including Canada and military war zones. i.e. Iraq
Simonetta earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida A&M University College of Law (FAMU). While attending FAMU, she served as the 1L Representative of Phi Alpha Delta, the 3L Representative of HALSA, and a Legal Panelist for Diversity in Law.

Simonetta earned a Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from UCF. While attending UCF, she was the Inaugural President of the UCF Trial Team and organized the first Mock Trial Tournament on campus. Additionally, she was asked to serve on the Graduate Studies Partnership Board.
Simonetta has been a part of Florida legislation as the Campaign Manager for Marybeth Fitzgibbons during the 2003 Special Election where she ran for the Republican House 30 seat for District 26.
Apart from her professional commitments, Simonetta has dedicated herself to her community through various roles and responsibilities. She has shared her expertise as a guest lecturer at UCF and for Orange County, FL. She has held local and board positions for various organizations, including the Florida Department of Children and Families, as District 4 Chairwoman for the Neighborhood Grants Advisory Board, and as District 4 Vice Chair for the Civil Service Board.
Outside of her professional and community commitments, Simonetta is a member of the Junior League of Central Florida (Local Advocacy Board Member) and UCF Alumni Association. She also enjoys playing Fantasy Football, volunteering in her local community, and spending quality time with her two beloved dogs.
